If your GT1000 gets a soaking...

Or any other bike for that matter.
Mine got drenched and started drinking fuel and running rich and generaly rough. The electrical connection to the Throttle Position Sensor (on the other side of the engine from the bit that moves when you twist the throttle) was full of water. This means the engine management system doesnt know if the throttle is open, shut or somewhere in between, so it assumes the throttle is wide open and pumps loads of fuel in. This way the bike will run to get you home. Or I think thats what is happening. By simply disconnecting the electrics to the sensor and drying it out plus a bit of WD40 it ran good as new after I clicked it back together.
I took apart every other connector I could see too and gave them the same treatment but they all seemed to have remained dry. Simple when you know how but it took me a day to work it out. I was a bit fazed by it being fuel injection, only had carbs before.
