HyperCommuter?

Got my first duke on order (name is a clue) and have a aprillia mille that I commute into London on every day at the moment, general question for the Hyper riders out there - what is it like to commute on? Specifically, what is it like for filtering, the bars seem quite wide and the mirrors on the end look like it will cause problemts (perfect wing-mirror height for cars?). I see alot of bmw riders on the A2/blackwall tunnel struggling to get past car/van wing-mirrors due to their handlebars. Is it the same for the Hyper?

Otherise, looks a cracking bike, a red S I think, termi slip ons or the 2-1. Yum!

Bike: working on it...

Don't you just pop a quick wheelie to get the bars over the car/van wing mirrors - go with the bikes image wouldn't it?

No problems at all, just pull the mirrors in when it gets tight. Most of the time they're above cage mirrors anyway. The riding position is superb for commuting as you see right over the top of most cars, no craned neck and aching wrists like on a sports bike. Oh and another bonus is that you'll win the traffic light GP every time.

You also have the option of putting on standard position mirrors if you find filtering is a problem.

Squiffy is right. I got S4R clamps and put standard Monster mirrors on the hyper when I had it.

Exclamation

I've commute every day into Westminster on a scooter and have taken the Hyper in on the occasional dry day.

Pros: Great view from riding position - very fast - brilliant fun to ride - other commuters get out of the way when they hear you and they certainly do with a race exhaust.

Cons: On a 12 mile journey only get into 3 gear a handful of times and rest of time is spent in 1st and 2nd - standard mirrors slow me down in central London because I can't move in and out of small spaces quickly. Have tried closing mirrors whilst filtering but mirrors are essential in central London.
Mounting mirrors in the usual place look a good option.

thx

thx guys, going to arrange a test ride pronto. sounds like some mounted mirrors are the way forward, and looks like it might be the bike of preference for commuting. from 1 aprilia to 2 dukes in the garage. cracking!!
