Contis

Great looking bike.

The sound from the Contis lets your neighbours know that you are 10 miles from home and also to bring small pets indoors for fear of them being sucked into the engine!!

I was involved in a rebuild on an MHR last year, what a bike

Yours looks mighty fine.

cheers spike, im hoping to meet up with other ducatisti soon, just changed all the oils, cleaned and resealed carbs/taps/filters etc, she sounds absoutely amazing, especially, now i have opened ended carbs, bring it on, but what a bitch the fairing is, all in one piece, as its a early one, they made them in two parts on later models. get this, i went to a dealers today, and they had a 1983 mhr900ss with 27kms on the clock, straight up, he was asking £12,000.

I have just seen your pictures, what a great bike, I really like them.

That £12,000 MHR did it have 27 kilometres or 27,000 miles?

I have had an idea as to fairing fitment nice and easy...Lay fairing in front of bike, then roll front wheel into hole and simply pull up. Prest and its done!

I didn’t have a MHR, but did have a 900ss back in 1981 and loved it. 8) The bevel engine is a truly beautiful thing and as you rightly point out the sound of the contis is amazing. When coming home in the evening, I used to kill the motor about three hundred yards from home and coast the rest of the way to keep the neighbours sweet. I have been looking at a rather nice one lately and am very tempted to trade in my immaculate Daytona 955I for it…….watch this space.

i dont get on with the neighbours, so its full-hilt upto the driveway, with a couple of good blips, just to remind them im here....lol

i saw some fantastic examples just yesterday, 1 at bob hill motorcycles, and several at mdina italia, they were really special, but alot of money, they appranetly ship lots abroad, and are taking better money than the mhr 900's, espiecally the blue/slver

see my 998 post for more info/pic
