How many Ducati MH900e were made?
Anybody know the answer to the above question....?
And before you ask... Yes, I love them... a stunning bike and wish I had one!

Thanks Dell...
I hope they do make another batch, although I imagine the price would be extortionate...

Bike: Monster 1100 soon!

I do recall posting one for sale on here during the summer (Ducati Wolverhampton I think...) and considering it's rarity, I don't remember it being too expensive.
I wish they'd do another run too!

I know a couple of guys who bought them (I think they were all sold 'online' via the main Ducati site) anyway both used them very little and soon sold on, as they were quite uncomfortable to ride. Never seen one on the road.
However the chassis was the basis for the Sports Classics, so nearest relative would be the Paul Smart rep. Again this was a limited edition bike and a lot of people who placed orders early doors were well peeved by the time the final specs were released; as they had dropped the metal flake tank finish and also changed the frame colour from metallic blue to green. Making it more of a 750ss rep.

Ghost, I've heard you mention your 1978 beauty many times but never in detail..... create a thread about the bike and I'll get it on the homepage. I love vintage chat and wish people would talk about it more!

Uncomfy... I don't care I'd still love one, totally original in my view. But then again my tastes are often in question because in the dream garage I'd also have a Bimota Tesi 2D...

couldnt agree more dan, it makes sod all difference to me, after sitting on 1 in midina italia, and then seeing the grey version, im sold. i could spend days in the garage, just looking at it. i think its quite rare, to see design like this, amongst the superbike clones, that dominate our roads.

Yup, 2,000 MH900e's were made. Not that small a number but only 58 were successfully ordered in the UK, although recently I read only 52 arrived. Some jiggery pokery in allocations...
I ride mine and am a fairly consistent sight at Box Hill and Newlands Corner, although my Paul Smart Rep (another 2,000 run, 93 ordered in the UK) gets more road time lately. The latter is a better bike but the MH900e feels more special: can't wipe the grin off my face. They come up on ebay from time to time, especially cheap in the States . Shouldn't be the only bike you own but they're worth it!
Bizarrely, Ducati UK tell me I'm the only guy in the UK who ordered/bought one of each from new. I don't believe it. Both are worthy complements to my bevel twins ('78 and '82 900SS) and capture the atmosphere and spirit of Ducati. Love 'em all!
Regards,
Bob
