Monster servcing

Hi
i'am Just about to buy a monster dark (600) 2001/2 with 1100 miles on the clock been riding it for a few days and had such a good time i want it, But would like to know what servcing needs doing and when and where is a good place to get it done (Essex, East London area) also how much ish.

Check when the belts were last changed, 1100 miles isnt a lot for a bike that age and the belt service may have been skipped.Then the usual service items,oil, filter(s) check etc.
Perhaps check the tyres too,they may actually be the originals and past their best, battery may need checking too.

That seems like very few miles on it which isn't always goods news with Ducati's. Is there any service history? If not you would be best to get a full belts and valves type service which is in the £400-500 region. In East London there is Rosso Corse 0207 7809764 near Bethnal Green who are independant Ducati specialists and are crucial in my life. You could also have a look on the UKMonsterownersclub website for any other info you need and reviews of bikes and dealers and such like. Best of luck if you get it, great wee bikes.

Just got a quote for mine and it is £275 for a minor service but next year it will be the full service with belts and fans being replaced for £480.
