Bike: Monster 1100 soon!

Anyone Ever Replaced a Horn?

No exactly a high performance part, but the horn on my wife's Monster 620i.e. is getting somewhat tatty and rusty. I Guess I could just paint it, but not sure if that'll ruin it.

I did contact Ducati regarding an OEM replacement, but they're £17.25!

There are a few around on eBay, but not sure about the wattage, etc...

Any ideas?

A horn's a horn 749, some are single pole and some are 2 pole....( referring to the number of electrical contacts it has ) Pop down to your local motor factors, and have a look at what they've got in stock. You may get one that sounds like a horn, rather than a wet f*rt....

I've got a few car ones kicking about plastic too, so no rusting. High & low tone. Just need to cover the postage costs ish.

Most metal ones are single wire and earthed through its mounting plastic ones require a dedicated earth.

I replaced the horn on my 996 with a Stebel Nautilus horn. One of the loudest you can get.....holy sh!t, you should hear it!!! absolutely deafening!!! sounds like a derailed freight train!!!
