Went for a Ride Today... (2004 Monster 620s ie)

It was about time otherwise I think I may have forgotten how to ride the Monster...

Dave (id.Hicks) suggested that we I ride out to Sturminster Newton and he would follow - or lead - with the kids in the car. It worked! I was happy having my own personal support team - because I was a little, if truth be told, nervous .

But it was fine! Wet, mud on the road, through towns, on dual carriageways, on very bendy roads - but I didn't fall off . For sure, had any of you lot been following you might have wondered who the numpty was - but I did get better, honest!

So now I'm wondering when I can take Mr Hicks out for lunch next week - so that we can have another go. Maybe the Seven S's near Langport - so I can get some more bendy road practice (didn't do much of that on my test).

I wonder what the weather forecast is...

Cheers. Mrs H.

PS Stopped in at Bransons in Yeovil and have now a shiny red Shoei helmet too

A very nice Shoei XR1000 Rutter 2 replica - signed by the man himself - and a veritable bargain at 25% off list price in the Bransons sale

well done Mrs H.
It can be a bit nervy taking a bike out at this time of year - especially when you have just passed your test.

I'm glad you had a good ride.

Hi Mrs H,
I might be a bit late, but a very hearty welcome to the board.
Make the old man look after the young ones and get out every chance you get......
There's no substitute for experience, the more miles you put on the clock, the easier it gets!

Hi, Mrs H , I am glad you all had fun on the rideout! As others have said, the more you do it, the more you want to do it!
Btw, looking a numpty is something we all do from time to time no matter how experienced. Learning not to mind too much is the important lesson.

Good for you Mrs H, glad you enjoyed your excursion. After spending a good part of yesterday at a university open day with my Mrs H & our eldest daughter, I went out on my Monster with eldest daughter riding pillion. Rain for the last 5 miles or so as we headed home but we still enjoyed the jaunt & I had a good excuse to ensure my Monster was spick & span before being tucked up in the garage.
