Do you know? I visited this new area dedicated to the lovely 800 and found there was just three posts in here, two of which were about problems with the 800 and one from some silly girl worried about buying this bike as her first bike

.
Well that silly girl is loving her bike and as you will see from my other threads I am determined to improve my riding to get more out of the bike and to enjoy myself even more.
When I went shopping for a bike I had gone in to get a 620 and it had been sold the day before so the salesman started to talk to me about the 800. Well of course he would I thought, he does not want to lose a sale, especially as I knew another local dealer had a 620 in stock. I was told that the 800 was going to be very forgiving with me as I started to ride it and then, when my confidence had grown, it would grow with me.
So what do I think of my bike so far?
There has been a number of times I felt I had done something stupid on the bike and thought I would die, but the bike got me through it, in fact I was left feeling there is a lot more that she could give.
I found this review from when this bike was launched and I think it is spot on.

I'm not here to preach, I have a lot of respect for the knowledgeable folk who know far more about bikes than me, but all I want to say is that if you are in the same situation as I was last summer and you are looking to get a 600/620 please do not over look the potential of a partnership with an 800. As it has that extra power it has got me out of trouble whenever I needed it, I'm sure it still has a lot more to give and I look forward to be able to really push my bike to her limits.

I just know it will be a while before I am bored with her, in fact I think it is more likely that it will be the bike that gets bored with its rider first!
