Yamaha TZ 700/750's had a viscious power delivery and over 100rwbhp, they came with spoked wheels.
My old bevel puts out similar power to the modern belt 900's and a lot more grunt, it hasn't broken a spoke in over 100,000 miles.
Manufacturers only really changed to cast alloy wheels because they were cheaper to make and had become fashionable, after racers started fitting Magnesium wheels.
Later tubeless tyres came along and the old type spoked wheels needed innertubes.
I don't know what they do about this on the modern classic range, can anybody out there enlighten me?????
I know that BMW fix the spokes to the outer flange on their wire wheel models.

I've just had a closer look at the monster pic' it looks like it's got a central flange on
the rims but my old eyes aren't that good these days, is this what they do with the modern classic's?
