Headlight Holed - Help Needed!

I have been unlucky enough to have a stone put a small hole in the headlight of my S2R.

I made enquiries with local dealers and found the wanted £195 for a replacement .

I have found that the S4 series of Monsters have the same headlight part number and originally bought one off eBay but that got lost in the post so I still need one.

Are ALL Monster headlights the same (there's one off a 2003 620i on eBay) ? Does anyone know of a pattern glass that would fit? Has anyone got one they want to flog to me at a reasonable price?

All help appreciated.

Mike

Standard Lens from Moto Bins ltd Part Number 80200 - Description H/Light Lens Large BMW Twins 1974 .
Exact spec as fitted to Monsters, the lens is not a pattern part. I think you have to ask for a seal if yours is perished.

Price around £23 plus carriage last time i bought one (had 1 for each Ducati Monster i have owned).

Moto Bins Tel No 01775 680881/680580 Web site BMW Motorcycle Spares - Motobins Ltd - Welcome. Order on line. You might even pick one up in their sale if it has started.

Thanks for the tips. I'll swallow my pride and go for a BMW lens then ("Don't mention the war!" in a Basil Fawlty voice). Still a European part, I s'pose!

With many thanks to Nel5on for picking the part up for me on his travels, I've now got the front light back together and fully working. Easy when you know how but damn fiddly when your a mechanical idiot and its the first time you do it. At least I've used my time off sick productively. Saved myself £170.00 too.

Just waiting for the D.P. steering damper to arrive from Ducati Wolverhampton (there goes the £170 again - and a little more!) and that will probably see me through to the weekend in the garage trying to fit it. There does seem to be a lot of bits but how hard can it be .
