Monster S2R (800cc) Cat Removal -Any Benefit ?

Hello

As per the title really, is it a mod worth undertaking on the S*R series bikes ?? Not intending getting loud cans, just want rid of the big cat ???

Cheers

Should liberate a little more power & would liberate more if you fit 'race' cans, you would lose some weight from the bike and also heat as the cat will run hotter than a pipe would. Probably need remapping/chip to make it run right in any case.

yes
its very heavy and very restrictive
you might well need to get fuelling sorted tho after removal.

Fuelling should cope fine as long as you dont alter the airbox, also sounds much nicer, even with the standard cans.

then why not go a step further and core out the standard cans to make them sound even better
