Bike: 2008 S2R

Ive ordered my first Ducati!

Hello all,

Ive ordered my first Ducati, a new red (what else) S2R and I get to pick it up next Wednesday!!

After much justifying I decided to go for the Termignoni cans, ecu and filter to give it the 'free' ducati sound...that and a biking friend said that I had to have them...and who am I to argue with such good logic ;-)

Any advice for making the relationship a loving a fruitfull one would be appreciated!!!

Roll on Wednesday 6th...which happens to be my birthday (i used to hate birthdays!!)!!!!

Welcome! I see you're from Winchester, in which case I hope you bought it from Moto Rapido, who are a fantastic dealership and, secondly, have a few pints in the Wykeham Arms for me!

Great choice of bike, when are you picking it up?

Rob998 so what is your connection with that Pub? You always recomend it.

I used to have to go to Winchester to attend several courses a year for weeks on end to get qualified for my last job, and the hotel booking people used to try & stick me in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, that also happened to be a bit of a dump. I complained so much they moved me to what used to be the Moat House. That was awful too so one night I went on a little scouting mission & happened upon the Wykeham Arms, which is a gem of an inn, lovely rooms (with your own personal teddy bear), fantastic food & most importantly great beer. It was cheaper for B&B than the Moat House too, so they were happy to put me in there. I must have spent at least 6 months in there over the course of about 3 years, and I can honestly say I enjoyed every night. It really is a good pub Luca, next time you go to Moto Rapido, you should check it out for lunch.

And it's in a lovely part of town with much else around. To eat try also the very nearby Black Rat restaurant - absolutely superb food - also Hotel du Vin

And Redmist - getting back to topic - enjoy the bike!

Redmist

Firstly happy birhday for next week secondly congratulations on getting your new bike.

Thirdly what I have found for a lasting, loving, and fruitfull relationship is, lots and lots of riding in all weathers, with diffrent groups of people, and lots of cleaning and TLC remember its a machine it wont take of its self.

Also if you have any problems someone, somewhere on this forum will have the answer or knows somebody that has the answer.

happy riding

regards Fireduke

Thanks all.

Did buy it from Moto Rapido, despite my cover note going missing the whole experience was very good; Chris is a top guy to deal with.

Tyres are scrubed in so now only have to worry about trying to keep it under 5,500 revs untill the 600 miles service...going to be hard! The Termignoni cans and air filter make it a sensory pleasure..im not sure my neighbours are going to think that but there you go!

Now just a bit of dry and sunny weather would be lovely before 'the summer' is over...
