S2R 1000 Update - Second Year of Ownership.

Well, it was a lovely day here in the Midlands and I'm not working so I thought I'd spend it 'detailing' Christine who was newly returned from J.H.P. after her two year service. I'm not yet able to ride her due to a work injury - damn these broken ribs . Although it's soooo tempting .

As well as being fully serviced and very, very shiny, she's had a few subtle mods since I last posted. The pipework has been polished as it was getting a little grubby. The Sat nav is now hard-wired through the on/off switch so no more battery drain from the cradle being permanently on. She's still running a standard engine but the titanium Arrows are now complemented by a Ducati performance airbox and filter. This gives a really nice induction roar at around 5000 rpm, if you can hear it over the clutch and cans! And she also has a D.P. steering damper to tame those 'get down!' moments that occur ever so often .

Other new additions consist of replacing most of the dull plastic bits with essential carbon fibre replacement parts! And a new Michelin Pilot Power C.T. back tyre. Also a D.P. belly pan has been added for that D.D. look! And did I mentioned she's had a polish?

So bring on the summer (although not too fast as quick movements really hurt at the moment) and I hope to see friends, old and new, out and about in the near future .

Mike

Your bike looks great Moley, no wonder you can't wait to get back in the saddle. Hope those ribs mend soon.

Very good Mike. Reminds me that I once went out with a girl called Christine, she had more talk than I could handle!

I have found this chart which (I think) is a standard 2006 S2R 2006 on

Monster Garage: Project 2006 Ducati S2R 1000

Intersting to compare it with my own dyno run - I have to say mine looks much smoother !

Mike

PS I can't seem to find any further 'Project Monster' posts after this one - I wonder what happened to it?

The joy of eBay! Although I've had them while now and cannot remember the sellers name, I'm sure you will find something suitable.
