Moley's Ducati S2R 1000
I have owned this bike for a couple of months now so here are a few words about my experiences so far.
I sold my 748 SPS at the end of last year when a work related injury left me with a broken paw and unable to ride. Much as I loved that bike, I had to admit I was not getting any younger and was finding the unforgiving riding position was resulting in aches and pains after only a few miles. So what next?
I had already owned a red 900SS and the SPS was yellow so I fancied something a bit, well, different. I decided a black S2R was in order - a fun bike for the real world

.
After some weeks searching I found the right one, a 'previously enjoyed' model in Norfolk some 130 miles away. It was one year old, 1800 miles on the clock with full Ducati service history and appeared mint. It also had most of the mods already done to it that I would have wanted to do. It had a Datatool alarm, a full Arrow titanium race system, some tasteful carbon bits and the clutch was open to the world. Even the wheels had been sprayed black from new, which I would also have done! It was a real credit to its previous owner. So I went to Norfolk, fell in love and bought her there and then, arranging to collect her the following week.
So, living with the Monster. I find this bike is absolutely effortless. The power is smooth and she is incredibly torquey. The suspension handles anything thrown at it and the front brakes are excellent (although the rear one, it has to be said, is almost non-existant!) . Whether pottering or 'making progress' , each ride is an absolute pleasure! The only other fault I can really mention is that she doesn't like slow traffic. But then, she's a Ducati!
I have added a few more 'mods' myself. The enormous rear footpegs had to go and Rizoma multi-adjustable rear sets are now in place at the front as well. A carbon rear hugger and c/f chain guards have also been added.
The first major run out was Bristol a few weeks ago and she didn't miss a beat. I'm still amazed at some of the little touches such as the metalic black frame or the engineering that has gone into the swing arm. Ducati have truelly excelled themselves with this bike.
Overall, couldn't be happier. Mole and machine in perfect harmony once again

. Roll on the summer!
