Exhaust help ....Again!!!

Blimey I am now completly confused......

Just tried to secure a Full race Termi system.....low and behold PnH not got any nor has Pro V Twins.

Started chatting to guy at Pro V Twins over the phone and he reckons quality of Termi system is questionable!!!! Poor welds.

Advised to look at Akrprovic or Zard. But this raises same question of fuelling which I inquired. Was told it is not an issue and even the Termis need setting up. I have seen on here several times that its difficult to get these other systems running right, and it will not be warrantied.

Also told that the 'urban legend' of poor fuelling damaging pistons is a myth used by suppliers to steer customers into buying certain products.

Not sure if I am convinced as he could be trying to secure a sale from himself as he has both Zard and Akro's in stock but no Termis.

Also told to steer away from open air box as I will go deaf........which has actually done the reverse....now I definetly want it.

So...in short I need help from you learned people, do I abandon my quest for Race Termis? Is there any other way of getting a set (brand new) without going via factory and waiting several years? Or shall I now start looking at alternatives.

IMO, the Ducati kit is as good as any, gives you a "package" that works and you keep the warranty side tidy. The DP stuff is also warranted for 2 years......
The Ackro and Zard stuff is very, very good stuff but you still need to sort the fuelling out. You're also going to have to get around the errors generated by the lambda sensor missing, which the DP ECU negates.
I've fitted a few of these systems now with no problems or come backs.

Tiny, my custom system is on its way back so the system that's on Lucrezia will be available next weekend. Full termi from the head to tail.

Got some pics in my gallery somewhere. Although your bike won't look as good, being red an' all

Fitted full Zard systems on both my 749 & 999. No fuelling problems & run sweet. Mr Zard did,nt work for termi for nowt........
Better quality IMO . Termi living on the name, not as good quality & overpriced

I've full Termi system on mine and it is great but given the choice I'd have the Zard, just because I like the design and sound.

I have a mate who put a zard on and had a lot of issues with the fuelling and it took him weeks and two trips to the dyno to sort.

I agree, the quality is good, but the termi system is right on the bike and if I was buying a used bike, I'd probably look for termis or Sils - personally, Zards would be low on the list. Just my opinion.

I only have experience of the Termi kit on my Monster, but I have been very pleased with the results. Can't comment on the others but I agree with Nelly, it's nice to have the reassurance of the warranty with DP products - IMHO.

Right......thats it!!!

Have ordered the Termi full 50mm system with ECU and filter.

Yeeee Haaa!! Cannot wait for it to turn up (which sounds like it could be a while).

Now the one remaining question at this time is, does the full system (part number DU96448506BB) come with the open air box lid or just the replacement filter.

I have seen another system (not full) which looks like it has the open air box.

I would like to deafen myself by opening the airbox, am hoping I will not need to do anything as the system when fitted has the open box. If it does not then I will purchase one seperately.

Any ideas?

Rich

The Termis on mt S2R came wih an open airbox. It's really only a standard lid with the top chopped off to allow more air flow.
