Multistrada Purchase?

Hi,
Looking for some advice.... I have been on the site a while, but mainly in the ST4 forum.. I havean ST4 which I find uncomfortable after an hour, so I am looking at an 1100 M/S.
Are there any appreciable differences between the S and non S? on a 56 model? I can only see different forks and shocks, oh, and colour choice..(and of course price?)

depends how you define comfort - the Mts is the most comfortable bike i have had, but then that has been 900ssie, 748,996, CBR600RR(ooopppss). Riding from Cardiff to London over one day and back the next was fine, but you will probably need a better front screen (i have), some people change bars(i did) - apart from that it is pretty good, but not really a motorway sloggger hour after hour - it is like most ducatis and has a liking to curvy bits(don't we all??). Termis - got mine new on e-bay with an ECU and airbox for £650. Do i like the bike - ohhh yess and i still have a 748R for those "other" days. Have only sat on the ST but it should be comfy - if not comfier - you will notice the vibes on the MTS after the 4v watercooled engine. Good luck

If it is pouring with rain don't worry - i have never had a bike that is so easy to ride in rubbish conditions - and there is a termi kit on e-bay for under £600 at the moment. Check out Multistrada.net :: Home also - american based but very international - some people use the MTS for serious touring, not sure myself - however it is the sort of bike that is useful for lots of things and you can add-on bits to take in more in one direction than another - even trackdays at the other extreme. some call it ugly, i quite like bikes that are distinctive rather than from the same jelly mould. Buy the latest model you can - they are better.

The one I am looking at is a 56 plate, 1100.. I will be interested to see if the wet clutch is less tiring!?
I love the look of the bike and if others think it is ugly I quite like that as well!!! after all I do have the ugliest bike in the world presently, my BMW R850R, now that is ugly, but I don't care... Some people think that the Shar pei is ugly, but I like it..
