Utilitarian Bike?

I'm looking to reduce my 3 bikes to one so was wondering whether the Multistruddle is a truely utiliterian bike, i.e. does it scratch, commute, whizz around town and tour?

It does all those and apparently it isn't too shabby on the track. Buy an 05 or 06 1000 or if you want a working fuel gauge buy an 07-08 1100 (wet clutch).

I had the same problem of a multi purpose bike; if you want a Ducati it is the only one that does all things IMO.. I looked at Monsters and Hypers but they fall down if you want to do any distance.. I bought an 06 1100 with the wet clutch and I am pleased with it.. except for the awful stock exhaust noise, so I have termis on order..

Bike: 06 749 & 07 Multi

Wet clutch = poo.
Stock exhaust = poo.
Grin factor, comfort, performance, (dare i say) practicality, 180 mile tank range, and quirkyness = bloody brilliant!

Wet clutch poo, I agree, unless you are doing any town or commute riding, then it is much easier than the dry clutch and lasts longer....and when cruising I can get 200 miles out of a tank..

If i could only have one bike it would be my Multi 1100s, wet clutch is actually not bad, had done 12'000 klm now, and has been to the track twice, performing admirably against all manner of sportsbikes (including rounding up a mate on a 999) also done a Ducati Turismo (about 4000klm) & a trip down to Philips Island WSBK's (around 3000klm) which we went the long way through the mountains... the Multi certainly holds it own everywhere...and clip the panniers on for some touring, or very mild mannered around town... you can't go wrong... have added the Zard exhaust, DP ECU & Hyper Racing Cams with a K&N air filter and opened up the air box....
