Thoughts on my Ducati Multistrada 620!

Well thought it about time I put an update on here about the MTS 620. Well WOW says it all. The grunt and flickability (new word :P ) is just awesome.

First time out had a bit of a moment though. Hubby kept drilling in to me how quick the brakes are likely to bite so try not too lock it up. So off I go for a few yards to the littel high street. He's in front of me waiting to turn left. I start applying the brakes gently squeezing , and squeezing, and squeezing, then realised S**** I'm not going to stop. Went round hubby on the right and was forced to go left due to a traffic coming my side, went wide as a car came towards me, another oh S*** as I pulled it back to my side of the road. The throttle being lovely and responsive screams the engine, the front wheel tucks under, but I managed to get it back shouting at myslef don't drop it in front of this lot, and off I go kangerooing up the road like a complete woos with the whole street looking at me Thank goodness for iridium visors so I couldn't be recognised. Was really angry with myself and decided in an instant I hated the bike.

Anyway after the exciting few minutes me and the bike settled together really easily. The thing turns on a sixpence, the power delivery is just great for filtering and even though I'm trying to keep the revs down I did have a bit of a play to see what it had at top end. Bumpy roads are no problem and the balance is fantastic. Great stuff but definitley need to get my other cans on it so the sound is more throaty.

All in all, big grins factor

Lots of fun to come I think!!

All sounded a bit of a heart thumper for a moment there Kazie!
But very glad to hear the day ended in big smiles all round and you're enjoying your bike. I saw a Multistrada 1000DS at the weekend (see below) and I have to say they're winning me over. Somebody described the Multistrada's on here as one eyed Ostrich's, which makes me grin with affection every time I see one now. Definitely a bike at the top of my wish list of test rides!

Get us some pics and tell us a little more in this thread about your bike and I'll get in on the homepage as a 'Featured Bike'.

Hi Steve / Dan

I will most certainly get some pics put up and give some more progress reports when I tackle some new hurdles (not literally hopefully) and how it performs.

I like the ostrich analagy. Have to say it certainly tried to bury it's head on that first day I keep chuckling about it, I think it was me trying to lay the egg though

Best of all, no aches or pains from the 70 miles. So much so it almost seems as though I haven't ridden it. Maybe it was all a dream............
