Ducati 750 Paso - Welding the Frame?

I broke a chain recently and whilst it was unwrapping its self it smashed a small hole through the main engine casing, the side cover did not get damaged.

Has this happened to anyone else? Can it be welded insitu or does the engine have to be removed?

I would welcome any suggestions

Thanks Paul

If its a small whole piece and you have it , why not Araldite it in place? Of course, if you DON'T have the piece, it could be inside the engine, in which case you'll have to strip it to find it first......
