Arrow Virgin! (1992 Ducati 907ie Owner)

Hi
Calm down I'm a 54 yr old MAN, but feel a bit of a virgin as I havn't done this before!
Entered Ducatidom 15 months ago with the purchase of a 907ie, I just love the cool retro looks. Have done the normal thing and got it totally sorted before deciding to sell it next spring. I just find it too heavy to manoevre and hard on the wrists.
I liked the more upright position and weight of the Speed Triple & ER6 [ don't laugh I'm old ] but would be spoilt for torque & style so need another Duc. So it's a GT1000 or a monster .
Any comments on these and any other ideas appreciated.

John

Welcome HiHoSilver
You and I are in the same age range and I have had an ST4s since 2001. Splendid machine - loads of torque for all sorts of duties and it does not give me wrist or backache.

Sample one - you never know - you could be "Everywhere and no where baby/that's where you're at" etc etc as the Jeff Beck song goes.

Bike: 749 in the sunny colour

Don't give up and get a Jap bike. As others point out, there are alternative Ducs. I ride a 749 and am sixty two years old.

Now you all know why I'm "Oldie" and I will be sixty three on the twenty seventh this month.

OK. Now the prezzies I want are.-----

Bike: 2007 Monster 695

Hi John. Sounds like the perfect excuse to try some bikes, how about:

Monster(s) - quite a range to choose from
Multistrada
GT1000
ST3/4
Sport Classic 1000 (with raised bars)

I've also heard of folks putting Cycle Cat bar risers on SS1000 bikes.

There's a few to think about, I'm sure others will chip in with more ideas. Keep us posted.

John, welcome to the site. Have a proper mid-life crisis and take a 1098s out for a test ride for starters. If you dont well you'll never know.
