I've been browsing some old posts in the lunch hour and caught this one. DrBob, if you're still out there, what was the upshot of all this?

Still on going. CMWs it all broke down which I was expecting it to.

It went to Moto Rapido and I'd heard good things about them but it all fell apart there too which I'm seriously miffed about. It was a case of droping off the bike and picking it up and they didn't want to speak about it when I picked it up. The owner wasn't there at the time and I just wanted to ask him what had been done and the like. I was able to talk to him on the phone and....well....yeah

I went to see a solicitor in the time between Moto Rapido and now and they told me to get back in contact with Ducati and see if they would either carry out the work themselves or buy it back. I then had a change of heart and decided to sell it only to have 3 different arseholes come round and pick all the faults with it, so it's going to Snells to have hopefully the final lot of work done, finished, so I can enjoy it.

And if it falls apart there I'll chuck a match in the tank and claim on the insurance.

Edit: Holy **** 215 posts.

Well I took it to Snells today, first impressions where good as they asked the right questions about things I brought upand so on, and they're happy to for a mechanic to ride it around for a while to get to the bottom of the running problem.

Only downside is they've got a lot of service work to do and it could be 3 or 4 weeks before I get my bike. But they're aparently very good so I'm happy to wait plus I can't ride it during the week if I had it anyway, and I've got a couple of other bikes to pick from for a weekend blast.

Yes they are. I did try to get the work done by an independant place and out of my own pocket and chase up the dealer who sold the bike for the money, yet they got ever so ****ty about it so I scratched that aswell.

Also they're not paying for me to travel back and forth, they gave me a set of exhausts as a way of saying sorry but now with all this running around fuel wise, wages wise and other travel costs I am actually out of pocket.

Dr Bob,
You are understandably beyond angry and with every justification. I would have been broken hearted if this had happened to me.
It shows a certain amount of arrogance on Ducati's behalf to assume that any customer should or even would accept this sort of shoddy build quality from a motorcycle costing in excess of 9,000 pounds.
I read in the last Desmo magazine that Ducati UK are to pay considerably more attention to after sales customer care and lowering servicing costs from the start of this year. I would suggest after reading your less than flattering review that this apparent refocus is well over due.
Might it be an idea to write to Ducati UK in Milton Keynes and suggest that they start their new campaign by trying to convince you that you did make the right choice in buying one of their products. How hard can it be to put this right for you?
I wish you the best of luck mate and I hope Ducati do the honourable thing.
I would definately go to press on it as Ducati need to be made aware that this is unacceptable.

Regards,
Richie.

Time for my quaterly post.

It's in the Bike Trader as I've had it well over a year now and I want something like an RS125 or a Mito. Either way I won't be buying another Ducati which is a shame as they're not half bad as you say above Richie, I know they're good bikes if they sorted the problems straight away, but I'm not going to risk being treated like **** again by thier staff.

One thing good has come out of it all though, if you need any work doing on your Ducati along the south coast take it to Snells in Alton. It's a shame they only sell Ducatis and Peugeot scooters otherwise I'd buy my next bike from them.

I've writen another letter to Ducati addressed to Tim Macabee basically telling him how shoddy thier customer service is and how rude thier staff are. By the way if you are reading this Andy I suggest you sign up at the local college and have some reading lessons because if you're going to attempt to use anything against someone you should atleast get it right, and even then you where way off. And also when you fiddle with a customers bike make sure you get it right before you're rude to them, that customer may not be too happy with you when his bike misfires all the way to London and back every day and stalls in the middle of rush hour traffic for a laugh.
