New age superlight?

After buying my 900superlight I realised that I wasnt getting what I wanted out of a bike with my 999 biposto, yep it had the looks (subjective subject but imho it was distinctive) and performance and handling, but I wasnt using much of these and found myself riding the torque more than revs plus never needed the ground clearance slapped on its side (wasnt going to ever trackday it). so I came to a decision to punt it for something more representative of those needs, plus had to be a little left field too,
so got myself as you've probably guessed from the forum a Paul Smart 1000
I used to a have 1000ss b4 the 999 but didnt gel with its ride position/handling which was missing something for me (thinks: front springs in the 1000ss are just wrong rate with poor damping control) and the ohlins on the rear looked nice but the showas on my superlight and 999 offer better control?! So I had to have a V-twin, didnt need 4 valve topend (or service costs) and didnt fancy a monster or multi, which left the PS or a sport classic ;-) choice was obvious (4 me) as the bling on the PS won me over the cheap rate forks on the sport or sport 1000s (GT what?).
And I can say now I've got it, its not a superlight but its not a bad substitute for when I'll have the SL in bits
ride pos is not as streched as I remember the 1000ss, nor as low bar wise as a 999 but pegs and saddle are high, in fact its a fair bit higher than the 999 and with slightly higher pegs too, though I used to run the 999 on the lowest peg setting.
The sport classic range doesnt seem to have caught on as much here as it has in the states , maybe too retro for uk ? but I think i'm gonna like it , bought as a keeper that i can fiddle with over time, though due to lack of take up here I'll probably have to look stateside for bits .
pics attached when it stops timing out the upload ?

Cheers Chaps
I'll try to post some more pics, keeps timing out at the moment though

PS the clutch cover is an old alloy billet that was fitted to my superlight
I was after some paint for the SL engine bits that looked like sand cast magnesium, this was meant to be copper in colout but came out gold looking until I flatted it with wet n dry.
it'll do for the mo , as I didnt like the stock chrome cover at all.

leave the cover it looks great, especially with the gold forks/reseviour, and those retro dials are top notch.

Got to get rid of the stock cans, they're HUGE and very quiet
Torn between the high/low Zard system or the Zard slip ons. downside is I doubt a 2nd hand set is going to appear on ebay

We'll due to the stock exhausts being rather zepplin like in size and quieter than I'd like I had to sort out a set of cans. The choice is limited and probably isnt going to get much better due the limited production run of the single sided sport classic model exhaust so I had to order new (OUCH!)
I tried to get Silmotor megaphone cans but despite appearing in a few catalogues online they never got beyond a prototype :-( so went with the ZARD slipons in black , they arrived in natural satin stainless finish which is cool as thats the colour I wanted for the silmotos.
Pics attached hopefuly.

They look far better than the standard 'Black puddings' IMO 8)

Cheers
I've had the 1st service done but not been out since due to the new summer monsoon season we seem to be in
Had to run it in during the wet weather too , its amazing how much cr@p collects on unfaired engines (or crap you can see!) . Got some other bits to fit over the next day or so (well I cant ride it unless I have pontoons fitted)

They certainly look much better, very smart. I do not like the size of the Zard logo, it is also too big on the 1098 cans although the cans themselves are lovely.

Hi Macca, just picked up my new paul smart, fitted with a termi exhaust and fairing lowers. It looks and sounds fantastic. What other parts have you purchased and have you any good web sites I can look at?
