Is that a whole system or just the endcans?

I've already emailed Keihan expressing an interest in these, though they did send me back a confusing list of options, its not clear from this just what I'll need at the moment.

If anyone has the baffle option on their GT could you post up a pic of what they are?

Ha! free exhausts! get in!!!
They look similar in dimensions to my Termis, if they are the same design-wise, ditch the baffles and enjoy.

  • Sound, it sounded pretty good (the word "good" an understatement) thats when I took it for a test spin. As soon as the system turns up, hopefully in around two weeks time, I will fit it, video it and then You tube it. two weeks is an eternity!
  • The full exhaust system is manufactured at Keihan, both down pipes, pipe connectors, cans and can hangers. Also the chap at Keihan mentioned that they had shortened the cans as a few people had made comment they were a little too long.
During the fitting process, I looked at the standard system splayed on the floor, and thought "why did Ducati do this!" the standard system is a really low budget piece of kit.
  • Performance - with the standard system the power delivery is very smooth and then you get a good kick 7 to 8K rpm. With the Keihan system, there was a lot more grunt and the smoothness was still there, I didnt manage to get into the high revs ( well I am not sure if I hit high revs) as the roundabout on the A441 came up a bit too quick at which point I looped back and took it the bike back to keihan!.
  • I ride the bike every day and now when I look at it, with the standard exhaust system, me thinks things aint going to be the same, two weeks is an eternity!

It is good to have a Ducati that sounds like a Ducati! When I first got the S, I recieved good comments about the looks and derision about the exhaust sound. Plus being different and not having termis is also a bonus

Bike: 2007 Monster 695

Very nice. Were the baffles left out? Does the Sports Classic have a catalytic converter in the standard silencers like the Monster 695 does (or did in my case - I now have the Termi kit)? If this is the case then presumably the Keihan system removes the cat?

I have always rated Keihan products. I had Keihan pipes on a BMW R80 for 16 years with no problems and absolutely no corrosion despite using the bike all year round.

Thumbs up baffles, I'm baffled

Hello,
the baffles were left out, and considering the weight of the standard cans I would presume the cat(s) are in the silencers, but dont quote me on that, i am thick as two short planks.
Keihan - A pleasure to deal with, I would advise anyone (UK) based to get on the phone, arrange a date, go there and get the exhaust fitted - pictures a videos are good but i cant tell you good the bike sounds or performs.

for now, I am putting the pennies in the pot, and going to futher enhance things with a power commander, new air box n filter - any advice on these matters will be very much appreciated
