nice one CTT!

enjoy - café style is cool - like gelato, semi freddo, and sophia loren! there you go rockerted - I bet you liked her too - don't care if I show my age

i wasn't allowed near a triton at 17 - but by 21 i'd made the grade - what a great bike, a wonderful learning experience in all aspects of maintenance, riding and pulling great ladies wo you knew you'd never have to carry on the back!

that's the only aspect of my 1098 i question - the fact my girlie can pop the passenger department on and demand a lift ...... tough life!

well done mate - //moose

Parts were easily sourced in those days Moose, I had been building it in my bedroom since I was 15. Remember it well Rootes Electric blue frame white bodywork with electric blue panels. Have to stop I'm having a moment LOL.

Good to see another SportClassic rider here. However you have been spoilt by having the risers! You should have the lower bars to keep the true cafe style then only fit the risers when your neck, back and wrists can take no more! I have kept with the lower bars and suffer in town but put up with it cos I love the bike.

I was thinking about fitting the origanal bars back on, but having read reviews and other peoples comments think I'm gonna stick with the risers, especially as I am going to use it for touring for at least 2 weeks out of the 52.

Me too

I saw the note about new members identifying themselves, so hi. I also just bought a new Sport 1000, black, with a 2-into-1 Termi system, arriving on Saturday. It was love at first sight (from the moment I saw the first photos). I rode the demonstrator at Daytona last Saturday and it totally lived up to all expectations. Last owned a GT750 in the mid-1970s. Beautiful bike to ride by the standards of the day, when it was on the road, which was about 50% of the time. Hoping for 100% this time around!

Welcome to the site, p2rae . Hope the new bike lives up to your expectations! You might want to post here so that those not checking out this thread know you are here too. Might cost you a round of virtual drinks, though.

Glad you like it. My first inclination was to go with yellow, 'cos that's the colour I lusted after in the Italian Motorcycle Centre in Wandsworth about 30 years ago! But I found a pic of a black one and from then on it had to be black.
