Sport 1000 Luggage

Anyone found ideal luggage for the Sport 1000 mono? Tank bag and soft panniers that accommodate a Termi pipe?

Not just the pipe but also the single sided shock also gets in the way. I have just sorted out a Ventura rack and bag that keeps it all on top of the bike. I will post some photos tonight. Ventura bag holds the same as 2 soft paniers plus there is room for an additional rucksack. Only downside is the cost. I already had rack and bag from previous bike but still cost me £90 for the L bars to fit to the sports. Easy to fit and solid once its on; also bag does not move around but needs some protection if it's sitting on the seat hump. Also got a cheap PUIG (£20) screen for touring which I tried out yesterday and works fairly well, again I'll put some pics on tonight.

Thanks to you both. Two good solutions. The rack seems to make the luggage sit very high but it certainly solves the exhaust and suspension clearance problem. Screen looks very neat too, but the higher bars may be my first investment.

Quitter! Think of of it as a mobile gymnasium. No pain no gain!

I have always used bagster stuff excellent bags, had mine for about 20 years, just ordered cover for the biposto, ventura kit looks good piece of kit too may have to invest in some for longer trips, tank bag is fine for about 4 days stuff.

You're right, actually. I will give it more time. Have lived with my TL's very similar (and marginally less comfortable) riding position for three years. Where it's a nuisance (as opposed to a pain) is when you come to an oblique T junction with a Yield sign. If you're not a contortionist, you have to stop and really twist your neck to see what's coming. I can get used to that, though. I once considered buying a Pan European for the comfort, after a particularly uncomfortable (excruciating) ride to Italy and back on a Firestorm. It was comfortable, the Pan, but I asked myself would I ever want to just stand and stare at it. The answer was a firm no. I could stare at the Sport 1000 indefinitely...

Puig Screen came from Motorcycle Helmets | Motorcycle Clothing, Boots, Leathers, Gloves, Jackets | Motorbike Accessory Parts only took 2 days to arrive.

I'm with you, bikes have to have what I call "the garage factor," makes you go out and do something to it even if it doesn't need anything doing to it, or just give you a good feeling just looking at it.
most dukes do this, but I find the sport has it by the bucket load, just can't wait to ride the damn thing

Do you have any pics of this kit on the bike? There aren't many tie points on the SC, where do you hook it on?

Thanks

CTT,

after you use your ventura luggage, do you remove the bars or do you run with the grab rail or rack conversion, if so can you post a piccy.
If you remove the bars how easy is it ?
I am just planning a trip don't now whether to go for Kriega rucksack or the ventura system.
i may get more use out of the rucksack but the ventura may be more comfortable for any distance trips

Darren.

Darren,

No I remove them when I get back, it is a bit fiddly as they bolt just about where the shock joins. Also I have the ducati battery guard which has to come off each time! I much prefer it to a rucksack and its so easy to fit the bag each time.

CTT.
