Exhaust end can bargain

I bought these end cans off ebay for £60 brand new. They look and sound fantastic, considering chroming the whole system.

Whadda ya think?

I have a pair of those in my garage, did you just bolt them on?, or did you have to make some adaptors to get them to sit correctly without sticking out too much at the back?

Was looking at them too. Are they the Dunstall replicas, short or long? Any hassle to fit?

I think they are generic mega short exhausts originally for old Triumphs I think. They come with a label saying for pre'83 motorcycles on them that just peels off - everyone's happy with that I guess.

I did buy some flexible exhaust pipe as I thought they would need connecting to the downpipe and pulling in a bit to stop them sticking out but actually they go straight on and don't stick out too much, you will need to make some brackets to get them to fix to the rear mount but it's east.

They are loud though, good but loud.

I bought mine with the intention of adapting them to the monster or the Sport1000S, cheap enough to throw away if they dont work out.(mine were even cheaper )
When I lined them up by eye I thought I might need a small angle change to get them to sit correctly and this is why I haven't put them on already.
I've tried them on the S2R and they fit though I need to trim part of the link pipes to make them sit slightly higher at the back and have bought spare pipes for this purpose.

You can also get longer pipes and I would imagine these wouldn't be quite so loud if fitted, though the extra length would show up at the back end where they would probably stick out too much unless the angle of the link pipes was altered slightly.

Have you had it out on the road yet? and how does it run?

It runs just the same as normal engine-wise but you can feel the difference in the reduced weight at the back which can only be a good thing.

My Wilbers springs for the front end arrived last Friday so they are going on next weekend then it may go round corners too!

They come with simple brackets that attach to the cans with a sliding bolt and could be bent to fit onto the footpeg hanger at the other end. Not elegant but handy as a temprorary fix to see if you like the noise etc.

I still haven't done anything useful with mine,I keep meaning to go out and make the short angle pieces of linkpipe I want to make them sit straight,I intend to make this out of plastic plumbers pipe to get the correct angle and then take that to a fabricator to make in steel pipe, hopefully that way I dont have to describe particular angles and technical stuff etc

Wow, nice looking exhausts.

So have you just been running the bike in standard settings? or have you had the engine set up in some way or another?

So what huggers are you running on your bikes? Ducati Performance parts? or after market? Opinions please...
