I was here a few weeks ago, having dropped a deposit on a yellow Sport 1000, to come fitted with extras (termis, raised bars, 14/42 teeth, bungs). While I was waiting for these bits to be fitted my finances took a tumble and I had no option but to pull out of the deal, to my grave disappointment
Anyway, yesterday I rang my insurance company, who have told me I can stick the bike onto my classic policy, as a second bike (I run around daily, rain or shine, on a '62 Vespa Sportique). This makes a sizable difference to the bike's monthly outgoings, as the initial quote (from Ducati Insurance) was horrific, and made the deal untenable in my new circumstances. The new quote makes the bike do-able, but only just...
So I'm now at the point where I could grab this bike again, and I'm veering towards it, being the emotional (as opposed to sensible) type.
However, I have slight reservations about buying a single seater. A biposto would be nice, but it will cost much more, and I can't stretch to it.
The point of this post, I suppose (and forgive me, as I've asked the question before) is - does anybody regret purchasing a mono, for the obvious pillion possibility limitations?
Is there a 'mindset difference' between riding solo and going two-up I wonder?
