Headlight Reflector

Coming home up the Brown Mountain on Saturday and hit some ripples in the road surface. Next bump I could hear a strange rattle from the front end so I pulled up to investigate. Gave the bike a shake and no rattle. Next bump same thing again, the rattle returned but again I could not find it. So yesterday did a full fastener inspection on the bike and found that the reflector in front of the globe in the headlight had fallen off. Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only unfortunate one

If its what I'm thinking (the sliver shiney bit inside the headlight) then its held in place with a net of springs.
Yours may have come loose and the reflector will be unnattached with anything else except the bulb wires.

If you remove the chrome rim from the bucket part-theres a little screw hidden on the bottom of this, the reflector is held to this rim it should only need undone enough for the rim to slip off,its not meant to come out(but it will if you keep undoing it ). I had to put this all back together when I had this bit powdercoated on my monster, the springs are assymetric and though you can fit them the wrong way round it only seems to all go back in securely if they are fitted the correct way.

Watch out for the springs falling out, you'll need those.

This is a rough photo of the problem, the light was replaced under warranty so its a heads up for if you hear a strange rattle from the front end, Note the round metal reflector that usually is in front of the globe sitting at the bottom of the light
