Hi Mike,
I had this done on my ST2 which was outside the warrenty period. My alternator had fried which consequently fried the regulator. DucatiUK replaced everything and they covered all parts and labour - make sure they confirm this with you and that the Ducati dealer you use is aware of this before getting the work done.

Just so others are aware, this was a silent recall on the early ST2 model.

Once the upgrade is done you should be fine.

Mine was the same Mike, Stator upgrade (and a couple of other recall item) all done free of charge. No cost to me at all.

They should do all outstanding recalls. at the same time.

Does anyone here know how the upgrade works? I just tried to use a newer side cover with 3-phase stator, but the crank is too long for that. Must be a new stator that mounts in the existing side cover. I had a spacer made to take up the space where the original rotor had been, and thought I was about finished. BIG SURPRISE to find it won't work that way.

Mike,
Could you post the part numbers? I'd like to see how they do this. I'm hoping it's just an adapter to mount the new-style stator in the old-style side cover. Is that how it's done?

Thanks much!

Jack in NYC, stuck completely...
