Advice needed ST4 swing arm on ST2

I am installing another swingarm on my 2003 ST2. My old one had slight damage from an incorrectly installed muffler scraping on it before I owned it. I bought a second hand swing arm off an ST4 on ebay, I hope they are compatible however there is different numbers stamped underneath and the chain slack sticker is slightly different, one says 30mm slack and the other 32mm! The brake calliper locating pin seems to be in a slightly different position although I am not sure about this and I will measure it in the morning.

Can anyone advise me if they did have the same swingarms.

Also could any one advise on the correct shim clearance for the for the swing arm on the ST2? I assume it is supposed to be very close.

Thanks, Waz from Oz

Hey,

I have a ST4s swingarm on mine, had the added benefit of being lighter too(Ali), I didnt change it, but the last owner said it was an easy swap....but you need all the bits off the swingarm too, I think the chain adjuster parts are diff...Maybe

Cheers

Nelson
Ps, Photos if needed.

Thanks Nelson

My new one is steel off a 916 st4 and I think it is a little earlier than my 03 st2. They look the same apart from a little vertical weld on the outsides original one but isn't there on new one.

The St4 and St2 swinging arms are both steel and are the same. The spec for the chain slack was increased at some point. Shim to take up all side to side movement.
