Clutch Issues,ST2,DP top plate and cover

Clutch issues.....ST2 99
Let me start by saying the clutch has been faultless until I changed it to the DP top plate(springs sit on/in here) and open cover.....

After the simple change (no plates removed) DP top plate in gold, stainless springs and open cover, the clutch lever took maybe 3-5 pumps to re-engage clutch first off, no problem there, and bike worked ok after that but after a "Cat and Fiddle" ride in one cnr I found no clutch, about five pumps on the clutch lever it came back online, this happened a few times when "pushed" otherwise fine..... On my last tour to Scotland ( j'o'Grotes) it happened loads more but usually when I pushed her(roads great up there). I dont feel it needs bleeding as its only a problem maybe every 1 in 50 pulls and never when I first start her up.

Maybe the DP plate has more off set, and my Evolizoni slave cyc is now past its comfit point and the seals are at max and when reved are pulling the clutch piston back?

Anybody else had this problem?

Regards
Nelson

One question/ Did you line the plate up properly with the marked spring post? They have to be lined up with the dot or triangle on the pressure plate corresponding to the post with the line cut thru its top surface, or the alignment will be out......possibly binding it. Worth a look?

Did you renew the plates too? Is the stack height within tolerance?

Maybe the best is to change back to the original top plate(dirty spring holder) and see if the problem goes away, as the problem was never there before the change.
