Loose mirrors

my left hand mirror has become loose on the bracket (not the bolts that hold it onto the bike). Does anyone know what the best course of action to tighten it up is?

Hi Mo,

Is the mirror stem cracked at its base where it slots onto the mounting? In this case you'd probably need to replace the mirror.

Or perhaps the internal spring has become stretched, I don't know if this can be replaced seperately or if you'd have to buy a complete mirror unit.

My LH mirror has a chunk missing at the bottom of the stem due to my clumsyness but still seems to hold itself in quite tightly, so slight cracking of the stem at its base doesn't seem to be too much of a problem if the spring (or springs?) is/are OK.

There usually seem to be mirrors on fleabay tho I never seem to spot any in my colour which is black (actually dark grey).
