Clutch Woes! (2000 Ducati ST2)

I bought a 2000 ST2 a month ago with lots of service history and a new clutch fitted a few hundred miles ago.

Great you might think but on the commute to work today the damn thing fell off 'cause whoever fitted it...Not a ducati franchise, obviously didn't whang the centre nut up tight enough...feckin idiots!

I just wonder if anyone knows where I can buy or borrow a holding tool so I can put it back on myself as there doesn't seem to be much in the way of damage.

Any tips about doing this job would also be most gratefully received...although new to modern Dukes I'm a fairly competent home mechanic so i think it should be within my capabilities although I'll probly have to get a bigger torque wrench

I've got a clutch holding tool you can borrow. I'm in Chatteris and work in Bar Hill just outside of Cambridge if that helps.

Job done! thanks to Chris

I have brought the tool with me today if you'd like it back, just give me a call and I'll drop it round to you.

New washer for the clutch center nut, o-ring for clutch center, 2 o-rings for pushrod, sump plug & washer, washer for strainer and an oil filter, all for just over £11 - who said ducati parts were expensive?

Thanks St Neots M/Cs

I was lucky as the plates, basket and bearing were undamaged, just hope it stays put this time.

Workshop manual from duc.nu was very useful...not bad for a couple of quid

Cheers

Stu.
