ST2 Pannier Liners

Rather than have to pull all the luggage off at every stop I am planning to get some pannier liners. Does anyone know where to get some?

I've been scouring the web but to no avail.

If you want the Ducati Official ones you can get'em from any authorised dealer - Italia Moto in Lincoln can get'em quick and mail'em to you:

Tel: 01522 511 851 and ask for Steve

Or you could get the Swiss "EXPED Fold Drybags". These are light weight water proof sacs that come in various sizes from 40lts down to 1ltr bags. They are easy to stow and carry having got built in handles and come in different colours.

You can get'em from any good Outdoor Sports Shop that sell rucksacs hiking boots etc. They will be cheaper than the Ducati bags but probaly will not be as tough or last as long if you are a "heavy handed careless" person. But, they will probably carry more stuff. I use'em in my tank bag, as despite what Oxford Tank Bags say, their kit is most definately not waterproof in a monsoon - but the EXPED BAGS most definately are.

In my panniers I use the Ducati Inner Bags as they can carry a much heavier weight safely without tearing or streching the fabric.

Just spoken to Steve and will be ordering some up.

Have you used the comfort seat? Thinking about one of those too.

P.S. Can't believe you're riding from Switzerland go get your bike serviced though

Q1: I find that the std seat is fine for me - but I do know that quiet a few folks have gone for "comfort seats".
Q2: I always take my ST4s to Italia for servicing - it is a round trip door to door of between 1,500 and 1,700mls dependant upon the route I take. I do this because they do a great job at a very fair price. I trust'em. And I have never broken down and been dumped at the side of some foreign field on my ST4s since new - and that's now 6yrs ago. I'll be in Italia Moto in Lincoln in just over a weeks time.

In my experience, Ducati's are only unreliable if you take'em to unreliable folk to service, or if you tinker with'em yourself when you really haven't anything between ya ears except a vacuous space. Only my opinion, but the world of Ducati does seem to be over populated by "Qualified Experts" - I just wonder sometimes what they are really "qualified and expert" in?

Enjoy your bags n ST. If ever you are Switzerland way let me know before you set out and I will be more than happy to give you some route tips etc.

Fair enough.

Might well take you up on that. I'm not thinking of routes until my exams are over then it's 3 weeks of planning

Good luck with the exams.

3weeks of planning - wow - you could plan a trip to Timbuckto n back I've heard it's an architecturally and culturally very interesting place but I think a Mulitstrada may be better suited for the desert sections of the route - but - what the heck the ST can do it if the rider can eh what

My bike is there at the mo, and i'm scooting round on a Multistruddle 1100 they have leant me. I'm only a 20 min ride from Lincoln and it's a lovely City. Mini Mo, you have spoke to Steve on the phone, top bloke, would you believe he looks like a wizard, all beardy and long haired.
How long are you here for Northworthy? Could see about a meet/ride?

Bike: ST2, Street Triple.

Panneir Bags

For the more cost concious, Hein Gericke do two sizes of pannier bags, cheap but functional, just like my bike!
