Fitting panniers.

Got my 2004 ST3 and well pleased with it. Went on Fleabay and got a set of panniers at a great price. Recently tried to fit them and had a small nightmare. The pannier holding frame is made by Nonfango and doesn't seem to aline properly with the bits on the bike. I have fitted them but on both sides I am unable to fit one of the frame securing points. It seems fairly secure despite this but I'm also aware that I probably can't fit my top box frame in addition to the panniers. Am I missing something, are the nonfango frames not compatable or have I been fleeced on fleabay?

Thanks Mike but I already had this. I wondered if the Nonfango frame was perhaps not suitable or possibly not 'perfect' for the ST. I hate the lack of 'instructions' for fitting them. There is a lot more to fitting them than a couple of bolts which the diagram suggests. Nevertheless they are fitted, everything works, it's just that a couple of bolts for the frame can't be fitted! EEEK!

st panniers fitting faults

hello
if you look www.ducati.ms search in the st forum under painners you will see a far amount of post ref the same thing you are up against they all have had to slot the holes and dont forget to drop down the end cans as they move as well to let you fit the frame to the bike and stay at the lower setting while the panniers are fitted

Dont forget about the indicators that fit on the pannier frames.

THanks everyone. I did indeed realise about the indicators....esp as there is wiring already to connect to the repositioned inidicators and the wiring under the seat. That was relatively easy. Guessed I might have to do some drilling and will look up the other postings you recommended. PS I did remember about the pipes needing lowered also.

Pannier Frames & ST3's

Anyone have an idea where I can source just the pannier frames. I have a Nonfango set off a Monster that I want to fit on my 2005 ST3. Looking at the diagram, they are a simple fit.

A long way from the UK to Oz... but not having any luck downunder.

Thanks..Sen

Just one weekend with my ST3, (only 6700ks and a credit to the previous custodian) A nice upgrade from a succession of Ducati sports, the last and still with me, a 600SS.

The frames looks an easy fit, but to line the bolt holes from the bike to the frame can be difficult.
I recently took the Ducati topbox off and frame (which iam selling by the way) and rebolted the side pannier frames, one hole didnt line-up correctly, so i undone the exhaust bracket and lift it up with force, just about got the bolt in, right pain in the ass, the bolt screwed in very tight, i throught the bolt was going to snap. So the side pannier frames are staying on for good. If i unbolt it again it will probably snap.

I think personally the frames bend slightly thats why its hard to fit second time around.

Hepco Becker Panniers & Topbox

I recently aquired a 2007 ST3.
Am undertaking a refurbish, after gross mistreatment by the previous and original owner.

Amongst the mods are a set of Hepco Becker panniers and topbox.

After the fitting is completed, I will post a series of progressive pics.

I purchased a bike without luggage because I did not like the factory items. Irregular shape prevents them being able to hold a fullface helmet.

The Hepco Becker items will all hold my Nolan N102 helmet, and are made from injected nylon, which is shatterproof. They also have a neoprene seal on all the lids, so dust and water will be less of an issue than with other luggage types

The standard Ducati panniers will hold a full-size full-face helmet, provided you put it in as shown on the sticker they thoughtfully provide inside each pannier!

My pannier and rack frames have been on all three of my STs (2, 3, and 4S ) and what you are experiencing is quite normal. Get busy reaming out the holes on the brackets so that the bolts will go through and all will be ok in the end. The standard panniers are excellent; waterproof, dust proof and WILL hold a full-face helmet in each. You will love your ST once you have got it sorted but beware of low ground clearance on the ST3. If you look at the way the exhaust has been jigged you will see that it is about 25mm closer to the ground than that of the ST2 and ST4.

Question Pannier Kit

Basic Question: Does the Ducati ST3s Pannier kit come with a set of indicators or do you just reposition the ones already fitted to the bike?

Thanks.
