My Routes near Chichester

The A286 out of Chichester to Midhurst, the A272 to Petworth is a good ride in itself, from Midhurst on to Haslemere still on the A286, from Haslemere on the B2131 to the A283 and head towards Petworth, from Petworth to Chichester on the A285.

The B2146 from Chichester all the way to Petersfield is fun as it the B2146/B2147 to Portsmouth. The B2146 to the B2141 at South Harting, the B2141 has continuos sweeping corners that you can take flat in top, one hell of a fearsom road.

The Entire length of the A272 is a worthy ride as are the roads down the West Wittering and Selsey to the south of Chichester. The mythical road out of Petersfield is out through Steep and the only road that crosses the A32 near Monkwood and through Ropley.

There are far more miles of road which I ride which are just as fun but aren't listed. There is a section from Chichester to Singleton which is like a section of the Mountain and a road half way along that which takes you to Halnaker which is even better. Hundreds of miles which you'd need a guide for.

There are the same sort of routes over to the East of Chichester as this thread is to show the roads close to Hampshire.

we were on the A286 I think and the A272 as well. Gorgeous roads, rolling hills, cows, sheep, fields, village greens, everything!

I'm gonna go to Goodwood next year instead of Beaulieu for a change. Give me a shout nearer the time and I'll tag along  If you don'y mind that is.

Well I went down past Beulieu (?) the other day on the way to a blast round the Military round that follows the perimeter of the Isle of Wight......only it had been raining, and there had been a leaky lorry, and, well, you all know what usually happens next, and it did. Bent clip on, broken clutch lever, damaged mirror, some scrapes on the fairing ( crash bungs saved most ) and so she is in bits at the moment.....
However, new lever and clip on I fitted today, wheels will be back from a repaint by thursday, so she'll be well in time for the Air Ambulance run........

awww bad luck mate, glad to hear not too much damage done though.

praise heaven above for crash bungs, i'm ashamed to say that i nagged my hubby (for the first time in my life!!!) to get crash bungs for his new bike because frankly i don't want to mop up the tears if he drops it....

i'm sure he'll be fine but you just never know do you.

I was on the 'Prilla Dan.....to be honest thats the one I use most these days, the Paso's getting a bit tired, and I ought to throw a load of money at her.....tho she's done me well as I bought her new in 89........Like you, I'd LOVE to rediscover some of my 888 pics........I do believe the ex wife destroyed them all, but I'll have another root around, see what I can find.....

A tip, don't ride any of the routes during hunting season. I had a pheasant ricochet off my knee not more then an hour ago, good job I'm 'ard otherwise it could have hurt.

I've found a couple more nice routes just past the north west of that map towards south London so I'll get them up when I can. Boxhill is along one of them if you're in to that sort of thing.
