This is the road up onto the Blackdowns from my house. Bumpy as f*ck and look at the contours

A hoot on the Superduke but not so good on the SPS

You may have the best roads, cream teas and surfing beaches.......But just wait for global warming...you'll be wanting our (North West) rain then won't you?

Whereas the next bits of the same road (B3170 up to the A30) are great on any big bike

It's also very heavily patrolled by the local constabulary (and k**bs on R1's blades and gixters).
There are much better roads in the area.

ZigZag is definately worth riding, a lot easier to go up it rather than down. It's a good stretch of road from the top of the hill heading south. A bit of care needed at the next cross roads and then a lovely curve by the Larmer Tree turning if you carry on towards Tollard Royal.

If you're in the area, Compton Abbas airfield is only a couple of miles from ZigZag, it's got a nice cafe and quite a few bikes stop off there at weekends.

Rode the B3081 including zigzag hill last summer on the way to Crescent Suzuki in Verwood, it is a fantastic road and I look forward to to having another crack at it this summer Will have to hunt out the cafe.

The A39 from Bridgwater to Minehead is okay, but does get busy.

Also the A483 from Newtown to Llandrindod Wells is well worth a visit
