Insurance Costs on the Up say MCN!

According to MCN insurance costs are on the up this year by 20%. Reason for this according to insurers.... increase in personal injury claims and uninsured drivers. It would be interesting to know how much revenue the insurance companies rake in compared to how much they pay out. Still, the hm treasury will be raking it in with the increase on premium tax...

I've stopped buying that comic now but when I did, I can't remember how many years they ran the same story. They are the Daily Star/Sun of the motorcycle world, sensationalism.

Uninsured drivers are a big problem, trouble is when they catch the buggers they get 50 hours community service or something similar, they don't give a **** if they crash into you , me or anyone else cos they know they won't have to cough up for the damage.

I must admit, MCN is bit of a rag but there are times when it does have its moments, albeit not very often..

Only to turn around and find one of my workmates reading his copy.....Thinking i might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb, i said "I rest my case"

I must admit I rarely read it (MCN) these days, but one of their staff riders lives just down the road from me.

i read it every week 8) , it may be that while reading it you have to 'keep in mind your own experiance' and filter through some of the articles more thn city traffic, but its still a better read than any daily newspaper.

I suppose it's difficult to fill a weekly rag with interesting stuff about bikes, especially in the winter period, you can only do so many tests on heated grips and the like.
