Storing Ducati in Van - Insurance Van or Bike?

Does anyone know where i stand insurance wise if i keep my bike in the back of a van,does the van insurance cover all contents? if not would the bike insurance get a bit funny securing the bike in a van,thanks

I think you should pose this question to your insurers. For example if your van set on fire (with the bike inside) would you be able to claim on the van policy, the bike policy, both or neither?? There are loads of variables here,
e.g. what if the van gets nicked with the bike inside etc, etc, Only your insurer(s) can give you the definitive answer to your question I believe.

thanks,i'm speaking to them tomorrow,just thought i'd go in armed with the knowledge so to speak,i havent got a garage so hopefully it'll be safer in the van (i live in a poo area)

Put it in the house ! If, as you put it, you live in a poo area, do you think the low lifes wont clock you loading the bike in a van every day? That'll be gone quicker than hub caps on Merseyside !

Now looky here Nogaromill!! That's a myth from the past! But when it was in vogue, they did it properly.....take a look at this visiting plane that was left overnight at Liverpool airport by some innocent Suffolk hillbillies! :wink:

Lol, the ONLY reason it could be a myth is cos most cars have alloy wheels, and if you notice, the 'bizzies' cable tie their hub caps on !!!
