I know there are a few posts on the board for this already, however without offending this will be the official and only one that will matter from now on. Could I ask that everyone uses this one from now on please and I will post any developments and info as I get it on this thread.

I will try and address everything with the following list.

THE EVENT IS FREE TO ENTER FOR EXHIBITING ENTRANTS AND THE VISITING PUBLIC. THE EVENT IS BASICALLY A MEET WITH A 9 MILE RIDE INTO BRISTOL WITH BETWEEN 100-150 OTHER ITALIAN BIKES, PARK UP ITALIAN STYLE IN CLOSED OFF STREETS WITH EVERY ITALIAN CAR MARQUE YOU CAN THINK OF AS WELL, AND THEN BE ENCOROUGED TO START UP AND MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS POSSIBLE.

THE MEETING PLACE
The meeting place will be junction 19 of the M5 motorway in the car park of the motorway services at Easton In Gordanno. We will meet in the far corner near the raised grass bank. (This is out of the way of where the cars tend to park and as the bank is raised, will provide a good vantage point to photograph the masses of bikes. It will also keep us out of the way of the main building and any complaints from the services manager).

THE DEPARTURE TIME
We will meet at 09oohrs with a departure time of 0930hrs. (This will give us 30 minutes to travel the 9 miles or so into Bristol and enter the festival for 1000hrs as requested by the organisers.)

THE ROUTE
The route will be out of the main entrance of the services and turning left onto the A369 towards Bristol, We will then make an immediate right turn into High Street (Portbury Village), once in the village we will follow the road around to the left and onto Mill Lane. The route will now rise up through a series of bends and carry on through woods and forests. At the end of this road we will meet the B3128 and turn left following the signs for Failand and Bristol. We will follow this road and go straight across at the traffic light controlled cross roads and carry on following the B3128 as it twists and turns and drops down through more forests until it meets the A370. Once on the A370 we will then follow the signs for Bristol City Centre over the cumberland basin bridge and then follow the A4 towards the centre. We will enter the centre and keep right turning back on our selves before following the road left and into Baldwin Street. The entrance that we must take into the festival is on the left with a dropped kerb at the Edwards Public House. Duncan and Co will endevour to park you up promptly. (I have left out the Clifton Suspension Bridge due to the fact that we have the start stop issue when approaching the bridge and once we have crossed it, to allow people to catch up. It was a bit of fun last year and a bit of an experiment to see how it went, but I have decided to leave it out this year. The bridge is an old antique and 100-200 bikes crossing it in one go is a no no for the bridge people. The rest of the route is fairly straight forward with the only hazzard being 8 sets of traffic lights! There is nothing that can be done about that as this route passes the least sets of lights believe it or not into Bristol.

POLICE ESCORTS
Police escorts will possibly cost money and in the words of a Ducati owner and Police Inspector "probably ruin it". I did enquire about this last and it was pointed out to me that someone higher up the ladder would make all sorts of demands and restraints on the ride in. There could be possible cost implications to and this could not be met by anyone as we (The Organisers) are determined to keep this festival free for all, the fact that in this day and age streets will be closed, marshalls supplied, a ride in for the bikes, a Ducati trailer supplied for the day and no entrance fee for exhibiting cars and bikes and the visiting public being asked, is all AMAZING! Also we (The Oganisers) are not a club and so we do not have funds of any sort.

VOLOUNTEER MARSHALLS
I am looking for volounteers to marshall the ride in, I require 5 or 6 people who are able to meet either the night before or earlier, and supply their own high vizi vests. The riding marshalls job will be to give anyone caught at traffic lights and junctions directions to catch the rest of the group back up should they get separated (which is going to happen at some point). You will ride with the group and all be allocated lights and junctions to stop at to mop up.

Riders Ducati dealership look set to lend us the trailer we had last year and the chap who brought the race bike that we displayed may be bringing more! The other thing which could be needed is a supply of accommodation for travellers from a far. I have a spare room and could put up 1 or more people.

I would appreciate it if people could fill in the attached poll, so that we know how much bike parking space we will need at the festival.

I hope like me you are all looking forward to it.

NEw monster is quite comfortable, probably more then old one but only to max motorway speeds. Any one riding a hyper with-out a screen will understand. The same effect.
Re looks parts are cool parts are not. In flesh it all gets together but head lamp and exhaust still sticks out as not cool

OK boys and girls, this may be my last post about the festival, tomorrow I am going to be busy

I discovered yesterday that the 999S's MOT ran out on Tuesday, so tomorrow I have to take it to Jim at ST George in Bristol(Moto Morrini owner) to get her a pass

BBC radio Bristol are doing a live interview with me at 0845 (I think they are saying I have a radio face and not a TV one)that should be fun.

Got to get back to meet CK and AK, change into my disco dancing clothes and then head into central downtown Bristol for the pre-festival meal and drinks(Its a hard life)

So the festival, my goodness the festival. Its going to be massive this year, 70 0dd names on the Ducatisti list for the ride in, Moto Guzzi are coming in force and bringing a stand, Aprilia are doing the same, we have Bennelli's, Moto Morrini's, MV's, Laverda's and Gilera's all joining us for the ride in, 150 could be achievable if all turn out. At the festival where Fiat are the featured marque there are over 150 cars from the Fiat's to Ferrari, Lambo's, Tomasso's and Zonda's.
We have the small Ducati hospitality trailer where we will be playing 2006WSB and 2007 Moto GP review DVD's for the masses to see what Ducati stand for(Winning).

The BBC will be there filming for a show, full details of which I will reveal at the Gordano meeting place, this will be fun and one the shows stars will almost certainly come down to say Hi.

The ride in will not be a start stop affair as last year, the route is pretty much a flowing route with twists, turns and straights, it will be reasonably spirited for the countryside half and then 20mph for the city bits, make as much noise as you can as we enter Bristol, thats what its all about(a rumbling entrance). The ride is not a race and can I ask that all marques stay in their own groups, this has nothing to do with being best or anything else, its just that this year we are going to attempt to park all the bikes up in their own respective manufacturing groups. It will hopefully speed up parking when we arrive because the on site marshalls will be able to direct you into the right areas. Please be patient though as it will take a while to get people into their slots. If you are concerned about over heating pull to the side and switch off, we can get you in at the end with no fuss, there will be room for everyone.

If you are still sitting on the fence about coming to the event or the ride in, then don't delay, get yourself up early and join the party. You will not regret coming but will regret it if you don't make the effort, the after festival video will show you what you missed and whilst the weather is on our side again this year, it may not be next year and so numbers could be down.

So meet at 0900ish for a departure of 0930 or just after.

Junction 19 (M5) Motorway, Easton In Gordano services, accessed at the junction (so either direction)

I have 100 route maps printed, I will hand them out at the services, please study them to just familiarize yourself with the ride ahead, I have 4 or 5 marshalls who will stop at key junctions along the way, they will point the way and with luck stop the traffic to allow the masses out, if all else fails and you do somehow loose the group(not likely but), you will have a route map. I dont think this will happen but I don't want someone coming along way and missing out.

Please come up and say hello during the day, I ride a 999S, she sports Rossi Tortoise stickers on her screen with Ducatisti.co.uk along the edges, she also wears Shell stickers on her sides. My lid also sports a Tortoise sticker on the back(Might be the only time you see a Tortoise in front of you when doing 60mph)

I wouldn't be worried about being at the Festival from 1000-1600, there is lots to do in Bristol, shops, resaurants and bars around the harbour which is all just accross the road and good company We are asked to not leave until 1600 and if possible could people respect this, last year people lined the route for the exit and filmed many leaving, its a chance for people to see exotica being driven or ridden. If you have to leave then please be sensible or we will be shut down or made to push our bikes in and out in future.

Looking forward to meeting you all and hope you all enjoy the day, its all about you and without your support it wouldn't be possible. In the spirit of Ducatisti its all FREE FREE FREE and myself, Duncan and Paul Hanmore of the Alfa Romeo owners club want to keep it that way.

See You There

Richard
