Ok ... Mrs H and I are kid-free on Bank Holiday Monday and after today at the Bristol Italian Auto festival she is well keen to get some more miles under her wheels.

Us "south westers" had a chat today at the bike festival and thought it would be a great idea to have a nice ride down to Kingsbridge - Plymouth (stopping at the New GT Store for a Brew!) and then over the moors. Anyone interested in joining us the Taunton contingent will be leaving from Hein Gericke at 09:00am and we will be meeting up with everyone else at the Subaru garage at Ashburton at 10:30am (weather permitting)!!

Ashburton Subaru
Peartree Cross
Ashburton
Nr Newton Abbot
South Devon
TQ13 7RB

So far (as far as I know) we have

Dave & Donna (996SPS & 620 Monster)

Jimmy & Naomi (996s & 800 Monster)

Dean (749) Ollie Yates (1098s) Dan (blinged 748) Kes (999Bip) John (888SPS) Mike (999R) Andy (749S) & Duds [another Dave] (999R)

Any one else more than welcome, we will be riding some great roads!

What pace am I expecting? Well lets just say that she will be on her Monster 620, which goes like stinking stuff, so I will probably leave my TTR250 at home and have to take the SPS so I can keep up

Corrected for you David dot H

Nah - I refuse to think it's a man thing. Don't tell him, but I reckon my navigation skills are better than Mr H's ... Years of looking at OS maps as a kid with my dad I reckon.

I can't follow directions when I get them spoken or written down, but I take a quick look at a map and I know where I'm supposed to be going to.

Metchek says:

Tomorrow afternoon (Exeter and Plymouth) - rain
Monday (Exeter and Plymouth) - actually not bad at all - sun and a bit of cloud - but quite good enough for a bike ride. And we've gone from 2 to about 10 of us - cool.

Taunton seems to have rain forecast in the afternoon - so better to stay west.

Anyone else coming out to play?
Mr R?

Back to recording of Heroes now...

OK - lets make the most of it then - what time?

Mrs H and I can get away from Taunton at 8:30 or 09:00 - we need to be back in Taunton for 5pm - what about you Andy?

A dull ride to Ashburton down the motorway is an hour. A more interesting ride south of the M5 on the A303/A30 or North on the A38/A361/A396 before joining the A38 after Exeter is about 1hr 30

I can fit in with your times David, just let me know what time to meet up and where. (can meet at mine if it is easier) I would ideally like to be back by mid afternoon tho

As for a route to Ashburton, how about;

A38 + A361 Taunton to Tiverton

Tiverton to Crediton, not too sure on the road

Crediton to Asburton on the A377 + A38

Whatsayou?

Did you get any of the fudge then Mrs H? Or was it consumed in the car on the way home
