Ok ... Mrs H and I are kid-free on Bank Holiday Monday and after today at the Bristol Italian Auto festival she is well keen to get some more miles under her wheels.

Us "south westers" had a chat today at the bike festival and thought it would be a great idea to have a nice ride down to Kingsbridge - Plymouth (stopping at the New GT Store for a Brew!) and then over the moors. Anyone interested in joining us the Taunton contingent will be leaving from Hein Gericke at 09:00am and we will be meeting up with everyone else at the Subaru garage at Ashburton at 10:30am (weather permitting)!!

Ashburton Subaru
Peartree Cross
Ashburton
Nr Newton Abbot
South Devon
TQ13 7RB

So far (as far as I know) we have

Dave & Donna (996SPS & 620 Monster)

Jimmy & Naomi (996s & 800 Monster)

Dean (749) Ollie Yates (1098s) Dan (blinged 748) Kes (999Bip) John (888SPS) Mike (999R) Andy (749S) & Duds [another Dave] (999R)

Any one else more than welcome, we will be riding some great roads!

Did your bikes get a clean when you got home?

Excellent ride-out yesterday. Such a big group! Sorry we didn't have more time to get properly acquainted.

Special thanks to Dan and Ollie for sticking with Mrs H and I on occassions.

Didn't she do well

I am sooooo lucky. Mr H spent quite a while making both bikes gleam again - while I did the girly thing and made dinner... I did have a bit of a go with a cloth and some polish on the tank though. Whole bike looks luvverly now. But mostly thanks to Mr H.

Wish I could have taken the bike out today though - such a crackin' day.
But my arms ache too much* and I had to spend all day in front of a computer screen and telephone....

Cheers.
D

* I'm serious - they really do ache - esp my throttle arm - must have been gripping the throttle very hard. Need to relax a bit more...

Yes - love to do again - just have to work out where to put the children - or do it on a weekday, take the day off when they're at school again... Not that easy with little 'uns... Either that or I leave Dave at home
Now that I have joined the forum I can thank you lovely people for a great weekend.

Totally unexpected weekend really I`m glad I looked at the forum on Friday looking for like minded souls to ride with. I did not expect to attend a bike show and get to ride the Dartmoor roads as well.
Excellent ride out monday with good riders on some super machines, even the last half hour in the wet didn`t spoil the day.
Next time I am over and in the South west I will join you guys again.

Thanks again.

Cheers. Paul

Glad you enjoyed meeting up with us on Monday Paul. Wish all of my weekends were as unexpected as yours, what with bike shows and rides across the moors. But i suppose i have to be realistic and say unless i win the lottery i'll stay in my shiny greenhouse of a showroom, and go out when i can. I second Mrs H, lovely machine you have there, in fact all the machines there Monday were lovely.

Look forward to the next one when i'm free from work.

Dean

It's not just you Mrs H..... I was knackered when I got home, we did quite a few miles and none of them were easy. I left the bike cleaning for Tuesday and had an early night Monday.
