Hi everyone, it's fallen to me to organise & plan this Sundays rideout, it's the first time I've been trusted with this, so I hope that the route is OK and will be suitable (but still fun!) for all abilities.

We meet at Ducati Manchester at about 10.00AM for a 10.30ish departure.

I've decided to go for an old favourite: down to the Ponderosa Cafe on the Horseshoe Pass for a hearty lunch, then depending on the weather a blast down to Bala. Total ride time, including Fuel/Fag breaks should be about 4.5 hrs, plus whatever time we spend in the Cafe. If the weather is crap, then we can forget about Bala & just go over the top of the Pass & loop back to Ducati Manchester. This might also be an option for those that are pushed for time as it will cut about 1.5 hrs off the ride. Here's the route (I hope )

You're all welcome to join up with us, regardless of how fast/slow you are. I'll be acting as Tail-end Charlie/sweeper so that no-one gets too left behind.

Don't worry if you think you're going to hold anyone up. The whole point of these rides is that they are for all abilities to enjoy. The fast riders can go at their own pace, and the more sedate amongst us can stay in their comfort zone. The last thing I want is anyone to not enjoy themselves because they feel like they have to push beyond their limits. All I'd ask of the faster riders is that at fuel stops etc, they wait for everyone to catch up before setting off again.

You can print the directions off, they seem a bit long winded, but they are quite straight forward and could easily be condensed to just a few lines.

Cheers

Rob.

It took some getting used to, Rug, but once I'd convinced myself it wasn't going to fall over around the bends, I started to enjoy it. I liked the view from way up there, I can see it would be a fantastic commuting bike cos you can see right over the traffic. I loved the engine, those big air cooled lumps have a lot of character.

The only things I didn't like were the seat which was too soft & compressed onto it's hard base quickly, and for some reason my left arm started to hurt, I think due to the bar position, but I'm sure there is a better seat available, & that the bars could be adjusted to suit. Not a bad bike!
