    Hi mate,
sorry just seeing this now. I am in Dublin 15, beyond Blanchardstown, but depending on when you are over, I could chuck the stuff in the car and meet you.
So, let me know when you are about.
I can email you a pic if you like.

Hi again, Ive a 2002 st4s with the OEM panniers, but was considering getting a top box and fittings. I've scoured over all the forums here and other sites and there seems to be a few differences of opinion which top box system is better, nonfango or givi.
Anyway, if your top box and fittings will go with oem panniers I may well be interested. My bike's red , but I should be able to get it sprayed up etc
I ocasionally travel through Dublin, so that could be ok if thats where you are?

    Cheers.

    Hi Tim,
sorry mate, only seeing this now.
Yeah, my problems are pretty much sorted now and the combination of RedEx and Shell V-Power seems to have let her clear her throat!
The problem is that the additives in modern unleaded tend to stagnate pretty quickly, particularly for fuel injected motorbikes. It leads to a build of gunge on the inside of injectors and supply lines to the Fi and this can lead to poor running.
Now, I would not say that mine is running absolutely smoothly low down, but there is a marked improvement over when i got it first. For about two weeks I alternated between regular 95ron fuel half of a single dose bottle of the green RedEx for Fi engines with a tank of Shell V-Power. She ran noticeably hotter on the RedEx tanks but after the two weeks she was much better. Also, as of a calculation this morning, I am getting about 44Mpg in city/country driving, which is not bad I think.
Try it yourself if you have checked everything else and especially if the bike sat unused in the dealership/shop before you got it.
I got the single shot bottles of RedEx in my local Halfords for about €3.00 a pop (£2.20). Also, bear in mind that mine had already been fitted with a 14t front sprocket, which does make a difference too. It was about €40 for the sprocket and is well worth it if you spend any time at all in town.
    Good luck with it.

    Hi Ascalon,
I have 2003 ST4S and my low speed running probs are identical to yours. I am on standard cans and the bike has only done 3,200 miles.
I followed with great interest your thread until you put the Redex through the bike, and there the thread ends. Is the tale continued elswhere? Where can I find it. I have pretty much done the same checks as you but I am not convinced the dealer has been patient enough to get the TPS reading correct to within +/- 2mV. This is very fiddly apparently and final tightening of the TPS mount screws can put it out again. Like you I am determined to get this sorted as it really spoils the riding experience of what is otherwise a fantastic bike. So any updates you can point me to or further reading would be gratefully received.
    thanks
    Tim
