So you want to have a chat but not about your Ducati, then feel free to ramble on in here, but please be polite. But remember this site is about our leisure time, 'the fun times', the times when we go out for a ride and leave our day-to-day troubles behind us, so please don't talk politics or religion.

American accident statistics

And we think we have issues?

That's 11 fatalities a day, are there enough bikers in the USA to keep the population going?

Hmmm

4 times the population but 8 times the deaths compared with the UK and our roads are generally more crowdwd than theirs but at least we dont have to avoid odd Moose on our roads.

Pure numbers dont tell the full picture but interesting to note that they spilt the figures into deaths and injuries instead of that stupid KSI bollocks that they use here which, we all know, was invented by the road safety/anti speed zeolots to ensure that the statistics can be manipulated ad infinitum to support their claims that speed cameras save lives etc etc.

Better be careful when i do my long promised ride across the states

But we do have a deer problem. One of the Mags did an article a couple of year back on bikes hitting deer. New Forest and Scotland being the obvious big problem areas.

Clipped a deer I 'flushed' with my termis a couple of months ago.
Thank goodness for those Brembos.

I was only joking about the moose!

Was working in N Wales a few years ago and driving along at about 40 or so when a very large deer with mega antlers leapt out of the forestry on my rhs, landed squarly in front of my bonnet 10 feet ahead of me and with one bound disappeared into the forestry on my lhs!

I managed to peel my eyeballs of the screen as the tyre smoke drifted away and thought, bugger that was close.

Would have been a tad more serious on the bike.

Having headbutted a pheasant last year i know what a punch even a small object can have at speed.
