Endurance Series 2008
KRC run an Endurance series, and I am thinking about doing it next year. I need a second rider. The bike is paid for, I have a van, I'd be looking for someone prepared to go halves with the maintenance and any crash repairs and entry fees, running costs etc. The bike is a Triumph T595, with a Ducati 999 front end on, with full racing Wilbers Suspension front and rear, and though she isnt as quick as a Gixxer, she handles beautifully and is reliable ( touch wood ! ).......Its set up for a lardy rider, like me....tad under 6' and 95kg....any interest? I'll get a list and consider applications over the next few weeks ! Any applicants ought to be able to get her round Snetterton in about 1m23s in order to be reasonably far away from the back.......we dont wanna get lapped too many times !

David i would love to have a go if you think we can work round the size differences! i can eat more pies if that would help
but i would need to have a spin at snetterton first to see if i could get anywhere near that time. let me know, i would love to try some endurance racing for sure.

realistically i would rather do it after DD has finished as i don't want to take another bike on the track just yet as i'm worried it will mess my already dizzy little head right up!
weekends etc are a bit quieter after cadwell too

Are you still thinking about doing the endurance series?
Hottrax are running a 7 round national endurance championship this year which will be great. I did my first full year of endurance last year with the club and had such a great time, it beats club racing hands down, so much more track time. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Check it out at
Hottrax Endurance Racing
If you need any more info I'd be glad to help.

Yeah, actually a bit of info would be good. On another thread: I bought a, ex-Top Banana/Fat Bloke/Moto46 Kwak 1170 Lawson rep, as a track tool this year with a view to endurance next.
It might not be as quick as a Gisxr and the like, but the advantages are being air cooled it won't blow the content of the radiator all of creation at pit stops.
Checked out the site, but could do with some hints on getting started. Such as, would the Kwak be eligable?
S'pose the set up would be the same as if you were doing multiple track days. E.g van, tools, few spares, spare wheels.
Need to sort ACU out first though,!
Ains.

I'm not sure your Lawson rep would qualify to be honest, the regs are all downloadable from the site. It's also a bit more involving than multiple track days, most teams will be running quick-fillers and will have a team of helpers/slaves to do the spannering, cooking, beer fetching etc. It really is a massive team effort, as in riders can't really do it without all of the back-up.
It's all very professionally run and is a real eye-opener to anyone who has done club racing previously. The best thing to do to get an idea of how it all works is to come along and watch, it's a very friendly paddock and most folk will chat to you until the cows come home.

I've marshalled KRC for a year before now.
It's a very friendly series, but it is pretty hardcore...
You'll need lots of tyres, a fueller (not necessarily a full dumper) some pit crew and an idiot who thinks he looks good in an orange tabard... (I might be able to help out on the latter :-)
