Guys,

The availability on the website is up to the minute actuals, the only time a couple of spaces will re appear on a sold out date will be the result of people moving their booking forward.

If there is a particular date that you would like and it is showing as sold out - give Lynn or Corinna a call in the office, and they will add you to the cancellation list.

Kind regards

Donna

I thought that I must post this, in yellow group on the Sunday there was a guy riding an R1, very competently, but he only had one arm!!! Nothing from the shoulder on his left side.

At lunchtime I had a word with him, I suppose lots of people skate around the dissability. But I asked him about insurance etc. He said he has passed his test he was penalised at first but that became illegal, some companies just plain refused, but he pays the same as any able bodied now.

He lost his arm when he was 2 years old. He had clutch and brake indicators and throttle all on the right bar.

He rode damn well and was no slouch.

So when we feel a little down now and again it helps to think of others far worse off, we are not doing to bad in relative terms.

He was one of the three most improved riders, too, I seem to remember.

I saw him, but as I was in a different group, I didn't have a chance to check the bike out, I would have been interested in seeing how the controls worked.

Just goes to show that where there's a will, there's a way...

Just as normal Paivi. Just oriented around the bar 2 fingers on clutch and 2 on the brake. he was very dextrous with those digits. He did get an award for most improved.

Life can be harsh, at 2 year old you really are not in charge of ones destiny.

Both myself and Jolley did Ron Haslam today and while I enjoyed it, CSS was far better IMHO.
On the plus side Ron Haslam is out on a track so you get to deal with positive and negative camber, hairpins, blind corners etc. Negative is that you are 2 to 1 with an instructor and you just get towed around (slowly in out case). Plus all of the instructors feedback is based on what he sees in his mirrors?
Andy was very slick, enthusiastic, and a nice chap. Was it just me, or did the classroom sessions seem a lot shorter than the track sessions? They didn't seem to drag on because they were fun.

I have to agree CSS was better than Ron Haslam. I am not knocking Ron Haslam, but you get more time on track with CSS and you get more tuition on how to turn your bike. Ron Haslam assumes you know what you are doing and is more of a guide around track. Unfortunately the Instructor at Ron Haslam(who you foillow) has to set a pace to the pair of riders he is with. The pace for my session only sped up to a level where I was starting to feel fast on my last 2 laps..... when we got back to the pits I found out it is because the second chap had fallen 2 laps from the end!! I did enjoy Ron Haslam and I did learn a couple of things, but I would certainly recommend to friends that they concentrate on working through the CSS levels instead (as a minimum level 1 for any new bikers).

I saw that. I didn't want to ask encase it was a biking accident! Absolutely fair play to him. I didn't see him ride, but as others have said he did get one of the Most Improved prizes.

Bike: Bikeless :(

I wonder if it's the same guy who races? That particular guy is pretty quick too, very impressive and just goes to show that you don't need to strangle the bars with a death grip! Relaaaaaaaaax ....

Does that mean I can go straight to Level 2?

Sweatpea - that would be good - not sure how we'll manage it - was going to cost a bomb, what with bringing the girls with us and paying for tow-bar to get fixed. Not sure, but may need to consider the two of us doing it separately - Dave one weekend, me another.

If you are planning level 2 though, give us a shout. From Paivi's write-up, and my recent cornering experiences, it sounds like something I should definitely have on my Monster plan.

Cheers.
