California Superbike School (Silverstone): 20 Apr 08
I've booked level 1 on that date (Sunday); they've got another 19 places available for that date, who's joining me?

In case anyone is not aware or has delusions of Grandeur, The CSS only operate with clients who start at level1 and then progress through incrementally.
If you think you are fairly good on the road, and you ought to be in level2 say then they will not entertain you.
Start at the beginning and work up.
As someone who did a 3 day intensive in Spain told me "Yes its expensive but what I learned will last me a lifetime and possibly save my life too"

Fair enough. In that vein I can also recommend Rapid Training, who often feature in the bike press (and train many journos):
Rapid Training
A day with rider/trainer two-to-one training is £140 and it's very bespoke: you tell them what you want to do. All police Class One riders with a commendable real-world approach.

Another good reason (as if staying alive isn't a good one) for the Cali SS is that eBike offer a premium discount after a set level (level 2 I think). I know I will not save the total cost, but it is nice to get a little something back.

I've done CSS levels 1 and 2, plus an extended day school in the States, all with Keith Code as Chief Instructor. I'd do them again any time, expensive yes, but well structured, helpful and really informative & everyday useful.

Paivi , Don't want to p**s on your party , so to speak..................
A mate of mine who i used to ride with regularly on the road's of Wales , approx 3 yr's ago took up endurance racing with a few other's on an NC 30 & R1...
They tried The California Superbike School out .
After he'd done it , i was right up for trying it out ...
He told me not to waste my hard earned cash , and guarantee'd me
that it was a waste of money & i would learn f**k all new !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So basically i never tried it .............
May-be you will have a more enjoyable time than he did .........
Look forward to hearing of your CSS experience ...........

The problem is that I do have a lot new to learn. I've never taken any lessons, and while I'm OK on straight, even bendy roads, when it comes to twisties, I really am not enjoying it at all.
Basically, I hate corners. I really do. Coming home last night, I felt like stopping and calling a breakdown van to get me back to London, anything to avoid having to face another bend. I felt sorry for Zimbo having to keep stopping to wait for me, as I was crawling along at 20mph. I've got to learn how to take corners safely, or I might as well sell my bike.
