Mick Boddice Track Training School

Anyone tried this one? Your Choice for a piece of Honda heaven

I was discussing Ron Haslam with one of the chaps at my local HG. Apparently Mick Boddice has longer track times. Darley Moor looks like a small and easier circuit for beginners.

I've booked a session on 25th. Will post experience then.

Not tried it but I've been to Darley Moor, I'd prefer racing around Tesco's carpark than go there

Perusing the site, it does look a good, road-orientated package. Irritating that they don't specify any prices though.

Dont expect Donnington style services / amenities at Darley Moor - its shall we say erm....basic to say the least. It also snows a lot.

Did this last year and for a extreme novice it was great as track is simple, more experienced people on the day enjoyed as well. I went as I had just bought the 996 and never ridden a Sports bike before and wanted some pointers so it took a couple of sessions to get used to the 'weird/different' riding position but it was very well run and the instructors were friendly knowledgable and understanding.

Just went on Friday. Great session. Basic stuff which one can apply to everyday riding. Mainly body positioning, counter-steering and progressive braking.

1 instructor to 4 students. Plenty of time to chat, swap tips etc. They try to match riders of similiar skill in one group. And they pretty much let you do what you want, provided you're in control.

Darley Moor is a basic track, not very fast, and services are basic. But I'm there to ride.

For £250, the session runs from 9 to 4, with breaks and changeovers in between. There are 6 12-minute track sessions in total, with additional orientation and manouvres in the beginning. Price includes gear, bikes, tea/coffee and snacks/sandwhich lunch.

Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.

Better yet, they are doing an advanced course which skips the basic handling techniques and focuse more on getting faster round the track for £275!

Only downside is that they you'll be on a CBR600!
