California Superbike School Monday 19th?

Does anyone want to take my place on the above - I have booked a level 2 place but have hurt my knee and don't think I will be able to get on the bike.
If anyone was thinking of doing Level 2 and wants my place, let me know before I phone them tomorrow to see if it's possible to rearrange or cancel.

Anne

Oh Anne, what a shame! Are you sure the knee is that bad and won't heal by Monday?

I'd jump at the chance but haven't got a bike or the money.

Hope you'll get it sorted out.

I am hoping my knee will improve - it's the replacement knee and i have abused it this week - too much hiking, not enough rest, meaning it is very swollen and i don't think I can bend it enough to get on my Monster or my sportsbike.

Hopefully, rest, ice and elevation will help it to recover over the weekend, but I am not sure -I'm I am hoping someone might be able to take my place just in case in does not improve.

If I can't get a refund/anyone to take my place I will have to see how it is on Monday morning.

It's a shame you ( and possibly me) can't make it paivi - it will be a great day

I'll tell you what - you take the scooter and you can have my place.

Actually the knee is a lot better today so I hope I'll be able to make it myself. Fingers crossed.

Thumbs up Top day at CSS today Monday 18th August

I have had to pay £5 to log onto the wifi here in the travel lodge at Towcester because I want to say what a great day I had today.

Thanks Jolley and Singletrack for keeping me company on level 2 and Rich900sl seemed to enjoy level 1 as well.

It was nice to meet Clive - a man of few words on here but a top chap who clearly loves to ride it Ducati!!

It was a shame it rained most of the day and there was a few accidents (including an instructor - poor Badger!!) but the weather could not dampen my day.

Suze

Hi Suze,

I had a fantastic day and thanks to you and Russ for pit crew duties. Great also to meet Anne and Ron and good to see that no Ducatis were involved in the (too) many crashes.

Really impressed by CSS and will definitely be back for more soon.

Good luck for level 3 tomorrow - hope the weather is better for you!!

Cheers

Rich

So Suze....

How did it go? Stay dry? You must be shattered - I was pretty wiped out all day. What was the most interesting/surprising/difficult thing you learned today?

Cheers

Rich

It was very good to meet you Rich - or should I say "baby face". Your superlight is great.

And great to meet up again with Sweetpea and Jolley - this time with their support crews.
I didn't meet Clive - but i saw his lovely yellow bike, and a beautiful 999s (drool) - Another member of ducatisti?

I enjoyed Monday - level 2, but it took me a long time to relax because of the bad weather. I would love to do one of these training sessions on a dry day.
My knee and finger (trapped in a car door on Sunday afternoon) held up very well and I am sure I learnt a lot but it will take time to start to put it all into practise.

Let us know how you got on with level 3 on Tuesday - I hope the weather was better and there were not as many accidents.
Did Badger do any more burrowing today?

Anne, how did you trap your knee and your finger in the car door? Small knees / big fingers????

LOL - the knee is an old injury which re-occurred just before the CSS day. I trapped my finger in the car door.

Smile

I am glad it was Badger (my instructer) who went off rather than me

He was apparently looking around in my (the yellow) session at his other pupil whilst cornering and ended up on the grass - first I knew of it was at the end of the session when he turned up for the debriefing covered in mud from the waste down.

I had great fun in all the wet sessions pussy-footing around trying to keep the 996 rear end from stepping out - too much torque coming in too early with the lowered gearing - gave me lots of opportunity to practice throttle control though

Did enjoy the one dry session and will certainly be doing level 2 sometime soon.

Good to meet Sweatpea who looked really confident on her monster doing level 2.

Regards

Clive
